The Massive Leadership Problem No One Is Talking About
Factories will be making factories. No people needed.
Amen to most of us just trying to live life 😂😂
So they can replace them with Ai later....
I am from Estonia. I LOOOOVE my job but my boss cannot afford to pay me. Kind of the same sitauation and I dont know wwat to do. I think I need to move on too and it almost makes me cry. Take care
I've been retired for 2 years after 43 years of blue collar hard labor My physical and mental health has improved a hundred fold
Some companies should feel guilty.
if u using a company cell or laptop than that company (IT Dept) will find out where you r working at!
It’s idiots like this will slowly lead to the end of remote and hybrid work. Those of us that love what we do don’t need to go to Disney or some similar such distracting place. How on earth can you get work done there? We like our flexibility to work in the office or at home and not have to burn sick/PTO time if your kids are sick etc., you can just stay home and work.
The problem is the commute and the expectation to live in a high rent area. The idea regarding remote work for me isn't to play around, but to cut my expenses.
because low to moderate income earners are all selling drugs - illegally we all know this!
Remote Work is the future. Accept it. Deal with it. Move on.
Maybe she is toxic
Yeah...I would have concern about company privacy and personal identifiable information being exposed in large areas. But, I guess if that was a concern, the company should've already put a measure in for that.(I work for the state. My state computer can't connect to wifi. I have to use an ethernet cord and my state cell-phone is a flip phone the weight of one of those old nokias).
……. 4 million people left their jobs every month for two years?
Disney adults are weird. There, I said it.
It must be so easy to just talk for a living
You're not going to get an employee to stay, regardless of notice, if you insult them. No reasonable person will tolerate disrespect for longer than they have to.
I’m with Ken here. Worked in two different companies post COVID and let me tell you, the only ones that work from home are supervisors, managers, and HR. The truth is we are being taken advantage of, paid poorly, and have to frequently cover remote workers slacking off because they want to vacation, but not work for it. My department requires hands on works, but those “working from home” leave early when the work isn’t even done and when they come back next day, they start where they left off making a ton of errors along the way. I’m calling it as it is, this generation of remote workers lack work ethics and suck.
If companies have no way of measuring productivity online, then that's their problem. Chances are, they don't measure productivity on site either so it doesn't matter what their employees do all day whether they be in the office or remote.
2 points (for me), Disney is a park built for adults, not kids at all!! Way too big and crowded for kids lol. And 2nd, you can DEFINITELY bring your own food into the parks - money saver
Working in politics -- now journalism -- I have a truckload of horror stories about the workplace. Just make as much money as possible and try to retire early so you can enjoy more time before you die.
Social security is my money. Retired at sixty two, with money I put in since my first job in 1965.
It should be up to your employer. If you get your work done and they approve then so be it.
So why not just pack your lunch and go to a quiet office. Must be hard finding a comfortable work spot that’s quiet for calls and meetings. No way they can be productive.
You can bring in food if cost is a concern, I live in Orlando, and I do it occasionally, but I prefer the resort hotels, hang around there, and grab a bite and enjoy the venue.
Better watch out that the work you're doing is fir public consumption...if what you do is going over private identifiable info for clients AND/OR private corporate data....working in public is forbidden and are they using a VPN so Disney isn't capturing all that data?
I'd wish they have mini hotels in the parks, so you can rent a small room and take a nap mid trip.
They might just like that idea. Imagine what they can charge for that lol. Nice $300 nap lol.
I think that as long as your job responsibilities allow you to work remotely, you should absolutely be allowed to. You need to get your work done. I feel that workers that can work from a theme park shouldn't flaunt it in front of colleagues who may not be able to do their jobs remotely or others who couldn't afford to do this. Also, it does blur the line between work hours and off hours, so you and your employer should absolutely have boundaries where you can turn off, too.
Why you gotta be so sexist when talking about which parent might need to squeeze in some work while the rest of the family waits in line?
Idk - how about you just go to Disney and enjoy Disney - aka a Vacation? The first guy just realized he could go to Disney and get some work done. But then he’s just thinking about “where can I sit here and work?” Just… keep vacation as vacation. This smells of burn-out. Yeah I’m probably jealous but I think if you are thinking about working then you aren’t either A - enjoying yourself and relaxing or B - actually focusing on your work. Too many people think they can multitask when, in fact, they cannot. I know the older I get the less I really can and my work suffers when I’m interrupted or thinking about too many other things. I need the focus.
I understand the fine line there. Maybe younger folks can do this, then there are no family obligations per say. But contrary to your point, some workers can relax on the beach and do there job, while other beach goers are there for a vacation.
50% of people are part time workers with income levels at 3 generation lows. Ppl are living in the woods. We have many conversations that needs addressing
Kelly is pro family & pro America. Promote her.
Yes. I love working from my country home. With Starlink, that can be anywhere on earth (literally).
You can bring your own food into Disney
You have to, given what they pay.
huh really?
@@lionheart93 yes, you just can't take glass, silverware, alcohol, etc. I'm not sure what the precise rules are but we took sandwiches, fruit, cheese sticks, and granola bars in our backpacks.
I wonder if people won't be forced to work from "anywhere" at some point. The United States is incredibly expensive. My husband and I don't want to retire, although we would like to slow down a bit. We've talked about living abroad. We are both self-employed, and a decrease in the cost of living would be a huge deal for us.
We're seeing geo-arbitrage happening, already. Many San Diegans live in Mexico and commute across the border, to save on living expenses. Same thing happening across the US -- people living in one state and commuting to another, to save on costs. I lived in Vancouver, WA for a while (no income tax) and would shop across the river in Portland, OR (no sales tax). Now, I live in rural WA, to save on costs.
Part time work, full time heavy pay. Your fired!
If Tower of terror keeping you from coming back; then take a relaxing ride like dumbo, even the Peter Pan ride is nice! Disneyland is nice but expensive
Just imagine how much better your life would be if you talked about the love of Jesus Christ all day instead of money. The Devil created money. What you talk about all day is what you worship. You talk about money, jobs, work, and the economy all day. Why don't you pray and ask God for help. You could do much more in life if you became a Pastor and helped win people over for Jesus Christ. Dude we're in the End Times all this Worldly stuff you talk about no longer matters. Money and the economy is all rigged by the Devil. ✝️⛪
There is no way they are being more productive than someone focused on working.
Not true, unless you're working some bullshit techbro job with no accountability (they do exist). Most WFH jobs are rigorously monitored. Look what happened with Wells Fargo, recently -- they just fired people for using mouse jigglers. Many require you to be on camera all day, etc.
I’ll be more productive on a roller coaster with a cell phone than half my boomer idiot coworkers that can’t figure out how keep up with email after 30 years
@@DoodleHats valid point
The answer to sitting too long at job could be varidesk and there’s a lot more technology where you can get it share that lets you change positions.
When COVID happened, we were all sent home and noticed an increase in productivity. I'm a team lead and think it is because there are less side conversations.
Yes. I'm so glad water cooler culture is finally dead. The system is changing, albeit at an excruciatingly slow pace.
Less side conversations, less stress, and less exhaustion.
@@animezinglife9627as you piggyback on the ones that have to show up to work while you’re too busy vacationing *cough I mean working from home 🫢
Yep. Office gossip and workplace distractions.
Yes work from everywhere is due to technological advances. Keynes said with tech we should have 10hour work weeks by now.
Keynes said a lot of things, many of which didn't work out as expected. Government spending, for one.
If they are filming something for likes and clicks expected it to be a staged lie.😂
As long as the employee isn't exposing trade secrets, intellectual property, company finances, work product, client personal information, or employee personal information whilst tracking the states in which they work for appropriate tax reporting, it's a grand idea. Would you want your attorney's or accountant's laptop stolen with your personal information on it? Want someone to glance over and take a screenshot of your taxes? Your paycheck? A company's marketing strategy? Source code? Yes, a happy employee is a more productive employee. The company has to consider much more than work deliverables when considering working remotely.
Yup he should be fired, and it’s also super weird that he wants to do that.
I remember when my grandparents came to work (they both worked at Marr Dodge in Oroville CA - he as mechanic, she in the parts dept), and saw a retirement banner for them, even though they didn't know they were going to retire. Grandpa went home and sat on the couch, and "pouted" and wanted grandma to sit with him and pout. After a day or two, Grandma told Grandpa, that she had things she wanted to do, and he could sit and pout, but she was going to go out and live. About 30 minutes later, he went out to where she was working, and told her she was right. He was more busy than he was before retiring, and they lived quite a few years afterwards, enjoying doing things together. I can't wait to retire because my wife and I have so much that we can't do, due to our 8 - 5 job.
The company Fired him Shortly after.
Source?
The workplace has become beyond tolerable at this point, the level of toxicity is insane. Jumping ship is the only way to receive a fair and legitimate raise and in terms of risk from going to a toxic environment….all these jobs are toxic. I might as well get paid more to deal with the nonsense so yes, I’ll jump ship.
It's doesn't matter. As long as the deliverables and expectations are meet who the hell cares.
Bingo. I don't understand why people are so opinionated about this topic. STFU and mind your own business.
Well that’s the slippery slope. Currently all my coworkers and myself are tired of being overworked because we have to cover for these so-called “Work from Home” employees that are mainly composed of supervisores and managers and are using work time to vacation. They set the standards of what the bare minimum is and we have to cover them for slacking off. Guess who’s the one that’s getting paid poorly (surprise, it’s not the remote workers for sure). It’s only a matter of time till we start calling out the BS and another resignation movement will happen because of the poor leadership of these remote workers.
how do I find a job in this dead job market? I graduated a month ago and I have $77,000 in student loans as well as a 7 month old son and nothing seems to work. I have just been doing Uber to get by, but it's not really working anymore. it's too oversaturated. I need a real job making real money
Look into becoming an electrician.
A question came to mind as I was listening. Are they able to get all their work completed quickly because they are really competent at their job/role, or do they not have enough work to keep them occupied during the workday? If the first part is true, I say great. They are a really good asset to have and how can I replicate this to other areas within my org? If the second part is true, do I need a full-time employee to fill that role or are there other job duties that could be added? I understand that most white-collar professionals aren't 100% busy the entire workday and that it would be counterproductive to the type of work they perform.
